We had a special event to kick off our week! The whole school turned out for Miss Molly's gender reveal. Everyone was super excited to find out that she's having two baby girls! The kids loved seeing the balloons pop out of the bag and box.
This week we've been experiencing different textures and using as many adjectives as possible to describe different objects. We made a new sensory board as a class and everyone like taking turns with it. We spent a lot of time reading books that incorporate textures like the 'That's Not My' series. While playing outside we gave the game I Spy a textured twist and told the kids to find things that were gritty, rough, smooth, and bumpy. They had such a great time and got very creative with the objects they brought back to us. We worked on our Father's Day gifts this week as well. The teachers love that this school year we got to see how far the kids have come since last year's Father's Day art project. The kids held their paint pens well and drew on their mugs so carefully. Just a reminder that the mugs should be hand washed and not microwaved so that the paint will last longer.
