_This week was a short yet exciting week. We are all becoming more verbal each day. We are learning to use our words instead of crying or hitting. This has allowed us to have a much more peaceful learning environment. We're also becoming more social with our friends. We are learning to interact with and help one another. This in Sign Language Class we learned "c" words. Ms. Julie taught us the signs for cards, cup, crayons, comb, and candy. We were also able to review some of the other signs we have learned like ball, bicycle, car, and slide. We are getting really good at paying attention and actually learning the signs. We learned about circles again this week. We made caterpillars out of circles, and we made beautiful pictures out of colorful circles. Then we tried a new experiment called kickbox painting. We taped a piece of paper to the bottom of a box, added some paint and a ball, and taped the box shut. Then we took turns kicking the box around the room. Finally, we opened the box and pulled out masterpiece. We are getting so big. We are all eating at mealtimes now, and we are taking nice long naps each day. Some of our friends are potty training and making great progress. We've also started allowing some of our friends to walk when we venture out in the mornings. Thursday morning. Five of our friends held on to a rope and stayed together for the entire walk. Soon we will all be walking together. It's amazing to see all of the progress we're making. Mrs. Tallent and Mrs. Bergmann (Ms. Tina) are so very proud of us and the progress we are making. Next week we'll learn about squares. We can't wait to see what kind of fun we will have together. Have a great weekend!!

This week was an outstanding week!! We are all growing and learning so much lately. Our teachers are so proud of us. We are now able to sit down as an entire group and participate in activities like circle time, story time, project time, and specials. This week during sign language, Ms. Julie taught us how to signs some "b" words. We learned baby, bear, bat, ball, and brush. We are doing so well at using our signs in the classroom and on the playground. We enjoy Ms. Julie teaching us signs that relate to our world. In music this week we got to do the freeze dance. We would dance round and round until the music stopped then we would freeze until the music started again. What fun we always have with Mrs. Cooke. We love to see her coming to our class with her guitar. She makes music so much fun!! The weather has been so beautiful this week that we were able to go on more circle hunts this week. We saw tractor wheels, buttons on clothes, and tires on cars. On Wednesday , we even walked all the way to the Sands. It was such a warm and breezy day. We were able to see the clear blue sky and the birds flying around. We really enjoy our walks and all of the learning experiences we have on them. Next week we will continue our exploration of circles. Have a great holiday weekend! See you Tuesday! Welcome back!! We hope that everyone had an outstanding holiday! We were so glad to see all of our friends when we returned from break. Last week we had Music with Mrs. Cooke. We had so much fun singing and dancing and using the instruments. On Monday, Ms. Brittney taught us some new Yoga moves. We learned how to do the kitty cat and the sitting tree pose. She even taught us a new way to do the elephant song. On Wednesday, Ms. Julie joined us on the playground to teach us the signs for some of our favorite outside activities. We learned the signs for bicycle, car, sand, and slide. We really love it when our specials teachers come to visit. We learn so much from them. This week we began working on our shapes. We started out by talking about the types of shapes we see in our environment. On our walks we were able to look at the wheels on our stroller (circles), the dead end sign on the corner (diamond), and the sections of gate around our playgrounds ( squares and rectangles). We read The Very Hungry Caterpillar this week. We got to talk about the different shapes in the book. We used circles to make our own caterpillars. Later we're going to use shapes to recreate some of the fruit in the book and even make our own butterflies! In classroom news, some of our friends began potty training last week. We were a little nervous and anxious about sitting on the toilet at first, but now we're starting to grasp the concept. Before long we'll all be using the potty. We also began branching out to some of the other playgrounds. Until now, we've been a little too small to use some of the other areas. But now that we are all walking and have a good sense of balance it's nice to be able to explore new spaces. Next week we will continue learning about shapes. If you have any old magazines or catalogs that you need to get rid of, feel free to bring them in so that our class can use them for our shape search. Thank you so much for all of your help and cooperation. Have a great weekend!! |
