We started our very exciting week with Ms. Brittany practicing our yoga moves! In yoga we did the copy cat game, “yogi” says (which is the yoga version of simon says), crabs in the moonlight song and pose, and what’s in your shopping basket activity. Yoga is always on of our favorite specials. Wee Fit was a blast with coach Jack; we did our weekly runs across the playground together and he also set up an obstacle course for us. In this course we hopped on square blocks and practiced our balance walking on balance beams. It was so much fun each of us did it four or five times! Our teachers wrote our names in upper and lower case letters, and we started practicing tracing them. This helped our fine motor skills as well as recognition of the letters in our name and in the alphabet. We are closing our week saying good-bye to our dear friend Tula Patel by making her a card and playing extra hard with her; she will be missed by The Little Brown School Family. Lastly, we enjoyed Studio with Mrs. Neese. She always has such fun, intriguing and captivating things for us to do. We had multiple sensory areas to work with in studio including: building with various materials, sorting, and a fabulous water table!
We hope you all have a wonderful weekend! :) Our photos are here.

_We started this week out with our all-time favorite yoga with Mrs. Brittney! Mrs. Brittney practiced many yoga poses with us such as: the alligator chomp, the cat & cow pose, and the turtle pose with deep breathing. We also practiced growing from a seed into a tree incorporating how sun and water helps that process!
This week we also went on a nature treasure hunt outside to find things of nature such as: leaves with yellow or green, large and small rocks, small sticks and so on. This taught us about colors, opposites, and furthered our discussion about nature from our nature alphabet. Wee fit with Coach Jack was a successful second session. We ran and hopped across the playground together. We also rode bikes as a group around the playground to strengthen our gross motor skills! We talked this week about what we love about school. So we made a sentence to describe what we love about school then colored a picture to go along with it. They are hanging up in our room on display. Mrs. Neese had Studio with us and read us a book about Vincent Van Gogh which we found completely fascinating. We then went into the studio and created our own Van Gogh inspired paintings - how fun! We hope everyone has a fantastic weekend! If you would like to see the photos from our week, click here. We had such a fun week! We started Monday out making rules for our classroom. We each offered a suggested rule that we thought would be beneficial to our classroom and each other. Mrs. Brittney came for yoga which is always a highlight to our day! We practiced some of our favorites like “ fly like a butterfly” and the turtle pose. We also learned and practiced poses such as the cat and cow, the turtle pose, rowing the boat, the crab pose, candlestick, star pose, and the washing machine.
Tuesday we went on a nature walk and we carried a bag to pick up items of nature like sticks, leaves, flowers and anything else we might find useful for our nature alphabet. We ended our walk at Port Royal Elementary School and played on their playground, and boy was that fun! Later in the day Ms. Kelleher wrote our names on the dry erase board and we practiced writing them ourselves letter for letter. Wednesday we were introduced to Wee Fit with coach jack. He had us race across the playground hooping like bunnies, jumping like kangaroos and galloping like horses! He will be here for the month and then he'll go back to the upstate where he teaches PE during the regular school year. The rest of the week we played, read a very captivating amount of books including Dr. Seus’s Sneetches. We are also finishing up our nature made alphabet to hang up around the border of our classroom. Have a great weekend everyone! You can find our photos from the week here. We started our week out on Monday with a fun yoga session with Mrs. Brittany! We practiced such moves as the butterfly pose, tree pose and more. She let us dive into our creativity by individually coming up with our own yoga pose and our very own creative name to go with it. We also listened to a few songs where we learned yoga moves that went with it.
This week we talked about the Fourth of July, what it means and the colors generally associated with it. We talked about the multitude of colors we will see in fireworks! We created our own Fourth of July hats using the different textures of feathers and tissue paper, only using red, white, and blue. Practicing alphabet bingo was also a big hit this week as well as learning fun songs to remember how many sides each different shape has. We capped off the week enjoying the cool air that Thursday brought to us. We hope everyone has a safe and wonderful long holiday weekend! You can see our photos by clicking here. |
