We had such a fun third week! We really got into the book “ The Mixed- Up Chameleon” by Eric Carle. So we discussed how and why chameleons change colors and the multitude of colors they can turn. We colored our own chameleons and sent them home. We also did a chameleon activity where we decorated them with tissue paper of various colors as well as different shapes. We also discussed what makes each one of us unique just like the chameleon is unique and then we created a display on our wall for you to see. As the week went on we noticed a lot of earth worms on the playground from all the rain so we got quite excited to talk about those and see how funny they feel! We celebrated Nathan Peeple's 3rd birthday and continued our ongoing project of decorating our birthday lanterns. This week we had Sign with Ms. Julie; she brought beach props and taught us the sign for each, including: beach, sunscreen, towel, water, and a few more. To conclude our week we read two books about Pete the Cat - one that involved the wheels on the bus song and the other about some cool blue sunglasses that made an array of emotions go away. We also mirrored Pete's emotions with our own faces! Have a great weekend everyone! :)

We had an exciting second week in the Inquirers class! We are learning our daily routines and singing our new songs in class and at home. We started working on our birthday lanterns which we will begin to hang on our ceiling for all to see. On your child’s birthday we will have a flameless candle lit all day in that particular lantern with their picture, birth date, and name above. We took fun walks along the wetlands to learn about nature. We also started review of the alphabet and named all the different words we could think of that went along with each letter. We also played alphabet bingo. Friday is being spent as water day and sadly saying farewell to Mrs. Groves. We hope everyone has a great weekend!

Our first few days were filled with getting to know our new routine as well as new morning meeting songs. We are already coming in to tell our teachers of how we are singing our new songs at home, how exciting!! On Tuesday we got to know our new class hamster, named thanksgiving, by taking him out and letting him roll around in his ball. Wednesday we had studio with Mrs. Neese where we made some very cool and fun paper color collages. We spent a good amount of our week doing our Father’s Day projects, it was so fun. Please be sure you check the clothes pins outside the classroom for these projects and others along the way. We capped off our week Friday morning with an alligator hunt where we spotted three gators, and a multitude of turtles! We hope everyone has a great weekend and we look forward to seeing our friends on Monday!

Through the week we talked about how they would be moving to the big building because they are such big kids we are. We spent a lot of time talking about the transition and how they will have a great time with Miss Kelleher and Mrs. Pompa in the big kid class. We talked about some of the things we needed to continue to work on such as listening ears, sitting crisis cross, and catching a bubble. This week consisted of some fun activities such as water day, where we enjoyed splashing in the pools and squirting each other with the hose. We loved the sprinkler that we could run through and some of the water tables. We also took a day to go have a picnic with our snack. We took a walk across the street to the baseball fields and enjoyed running around. We got to eat pears in the dug out! We also had yoga this week where we practiced some of our favorite poses such as the downward dog, turtle, and warrior poses. It was a great last week filled with lots of fun. This year each child brought something special to our classroom. We have truly enjoyed each little personality and loved seeing each child develop and blossom through the year. We are very proud at how far each child has come and can't wait to see how well they will continue to do in the big building.
Thanks for a great year! Mrs. Groves and Mrs. Pompa Our photos are here. |
